Today I saw a homeless puppy die

We are living in the 21st century but still in this m***f** country, I'm talking about Greece, no one is giving a shit about animals. Visit Greece and you will be flooded by straydogs and stray cats, yes even in cities like Athens.
The problem gets worse in rural areas and small islands which don't have the privilege to have an animal shelter or even a vet. Combined with the way people think of animals you don't let them have any chance of survival if anything happens to them.
Let's get to my story. Last week a black puppy came to my home, I could see that it was sick because it had some hairless patches on its body and the only thing I could do is feed it. I thought of calling an animal shelter to come and take the dog but as I expected the island doesn't have an animal shelter and so I couldn't take the ship to go to the shelter nor could they come. My second option would be a vet. Well considering the situation, the vet would ask 50 euro just for visiting him and he would also request a shitload of money to treat the dogs wounds and I would also have to pay for the medicine I had to buy for the dog. So seeing that I don't have a job (no money), a vet wasn't a possible solution for me. So the only thing I could do was just feed the dog and hope that its health would get better over time.
Today I saw the little dog lying in the yard of my house, breathing heavily and green-yellow goo was coming out of some of his hairless patches. I tried moving it out of the sun but it tried to bite me so I didn't try to touch it anymore because I didn't want to get an infection or get hurt. So I watched the dog dying. After 20 minutes the dog was dead.
I felt relieved. If the dog wouldn't die it would live the rest of its live searching for food and fighting with other stray dogs or maybe get hit by a car or something. Maybe its death was a blessing for the both of us. This wouldn't have happened if we lived in a society which really cared about animals, but you can't expect for a country to care for its animals if it really doesn't care about its own citizens. Right?

The beginning of an experiment

Yes so it begins, I'm going to start an experiment and try to write most of the things that are happening in my life, some of my thoughts about the world, as if someone cared about my opinions ,but anyway I hope that when I get old I will be able to give the link of my blog to my grandchildren and let them see how cool their grandfather used to be.
